Lake County Library Food for Fines a Success Again This Year

May was the month to return those long overdue books to your local library and pay the fine in food. During the month of May, when you returned a library book anywhere in the Lake County Library System, your fine would be forgiven – $1 for every food item you brought to donate.

The Lady Lake Library collected over 1,000 items for its local food bank, the Lady Lake Christian Food Pantry, which feeds 350 families each month. Started in 1998, the Food Pantry is an off-campus ministry of North Lake Presbyterian Church that provides supplemental groceries for families in need in Lady Lake, The Villages, Summerfield and Weirsdale.
