Smart Money Workshop Series in Belleview Begins in September

The City of Belleview is proud to announce a new partnership with Mid-Florida Credit Union to present “Smart Money: Empowering Through Financial Education,” a monthly workshop series designed to provide essential financial knowledge and skills to the community.

Starting on September 10, 2024, these workshops will take place on the second Tuesday of each month at 10:00 AM at the Belleview Community Center and are open to the public.

This educational initiative will cover a wide range of topics critical to financial well-being:

  • September 10, 2024 – Budgeting and Spending
  • October 8, 2024 – Financial Planning
  • November 12, 2024 – Financial Services
  • December 10, 2024 – Identity Theft
  • January 14, 2025 – Managing Credit
  • February 11, 2025 – Managing Student Loans
  • March 11, 2025 – Paying for College
  • April 8, 2025 – Senior Planning
  • May 13, 2025 – Workplace Transition

Mayor Christine Dobkowski emphasized the significance of this program: “Financial literacy is a cornerstone of a strong community. By partnering with Mid-Florida Credit Union, we’re providing our residents with the tools they need to make informed financial decisions, which will ultimately lead to a more prosperous Belleview. This collaboration highlights our commitment to working with trusted local institutions to bring valuable resources to our citizens.”

Robert Vass, Events and Promotions Manager for the City of Belleview, shared his thoughts: “This workshop series is a tremendous opportunity for our community to gain valuable financial insights while also strengthening the bonds between residents and local organizations. We are excited to collaborate with Mid-Florida Credit Union to offer these sessions that will empower participants with the knowledge they need to navigate various financial challenges. I hope this initiative is just the beginning of many future collaborations with local businesses and organizations, as we continue to work together to build a better Belleview.”

Each session will feature experts from Mid-Florida Credit Union who will share their expertise and answer questions from attendees. Whether you’re looking to improve your budgeting skills, plan for retirement, or understand the intricacies of managing student loans, these workshops are designed to help you achieve your financial goals.
