Safe Kids Florida is a program of the Florida Health Department intended to promote children’s safety and prevent unintentional childhood injuries. One in 10 children under the age of 19 is injured seriously enough for an emergency room visit or admission to the hospital for treatment, according to FHD statistics. This organization is part of Safe Kids Worldwide and includes local coalitions. The mission of the group is to prevent or reduce the number of unintentional injuries to those ages infant to 19.
