HCA Florida West Marion Hospital Announces New Assistant Chief Nursing Officer

HCA Florida Ocala Hospital and HCA Florida West Marion Hospital announced today the appointment of Brooke Haddix as the new assistant chief nursing officer of HCA Florida West Marion Hospital. Haddix has served the HCA Florida North Florida Hospital community in Gainesville since 2017, where she filled a variety of leadership roles. Most recently, she served as the nursing director of their Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) for the past three years.

Haddix is an innovative nursing leader who fostered a positive culture in the HCA Florida North Florida Hospital CVICU, focused on clinical performance and meeting the needs of the growing community. Under her leadership, the CVICU was awarded the nationally recognized Beacon Silver Designation from the American Association of Critical Care Nurses for the team’s efforts to improve patient outcomes and align practices with AACN’s six Healthy Work Environment Standards. Haddix also chaired the Comprehensive Unit Based Safety Program in CVICU, where the team accomplished the implementation of quality metrics including reduced reintubation rates and infections. Haddix was a key leader involved in helping HCA Florida North Florida Hospital obtain and maintain its Transcatheter Valve Accreditation, and was the co-creator of the hospital’s Cardiothoracic Enhanced Surgical Recovery bundle.

Haddix is a member of the Galen College of Nursing Professional Advisory Committee. She is currently pursuing her Doctorate in Nursing Practice, and holds an MSN in Nursing Leadership and her Nurse Executive certification.
