Community Yard Sale to Benefit United Way of Marion County

The City of Belleview is excited to announce its upcoming Community Yard Sale, scheduled to take place on October 12, 2024, from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Belleview Community Center. This event promises to be a fantastic opportunity for residents to sell their treasures, find unique items from local vendors, and support a great cause.

Proceeds from booth fees will be donated to the United Way of Marion County, an organization dedicated to improving lives by mobilizing the power of communities to advance the common good. The United Way focuses on education, financial stability, and health – the building blocks for a good quality of life.  The Community Yard Sale serves as one of several ways the City raises funds and increases awareness for the United Way each year.

Vendors can secure an exterior space, on the covered patio, for $10 or an interior space, complete with a table and air conditioning, for $20. Additional tables are available for an extra fee. This is a perfect opportunity for community members to clear out their attics and garages, and for shoppers to discover hidden gems. Vendors can learn more and register for a space at www.belleviewfl.org/172/local-events. Additionally, food trucks will be on-site for the day, offering a variety of delicious meals and snacks.

Sandi McKamey, City Administrator, expressed her enthusiasm for the event, saying, “The Community Yard Sale is a wonderful tradition in Belleview. It’s an event that not only allows community members to come together and support each other but also benefits a vital organization in our community. By supporting the United Way, we’re helping to build a stronger, healthier community for everyone. This event embodies the spirit of Belleview, where neighbors help neighbors, and everyone has a role in making our city a better place.”

Angilia Pittsley, the event coordinator, highlighted the significance of the yard sale: “This event is important because it brings our community together in a fun and meaningful way. By supporting the United Way of Marion County, we are contributing to essential programs and services that make a real difference in people’s lives. I encourage everyone to participate, whether as a vendor or a shopper, and help make this event a huge success. It’s heartwarming to see our community unite for such a worthy cause, and I look forward to seeing everyone there.”
