Boisonneault Oncology Institute hosting ‘We Can’ Weekend

For more than a decade, “We Can” Weekend has focused on the message, “There is life after cancer and we’re living it to the fullest.”

The annual community support program educates and empowers adults facing cancer, survivors and their families. Robert Boisonneault Oncology Institute (RBOI) will sponsor and host “We Can” Weekend from 8:30am-noon Saturday, Nov. 9, at Harbor Hills Country Club, 6538 Lake Griffin Road, Lady Lake. The program is free and includes breakfast, a news release states.

This year’s presenters include RBOI’s Dr. Norman Anderson speaking on compassionate care, Compassion Clinic’s Dr. Robert Goethe speaking on the history of medical marijuana, and cancer survivor Gaye Martin. A wide variety of exhibitors also will be on hand to provide relevant resources and information.

RBOI has sponsored “We Can” Weekend from its inception. Over the years, the workshop has supported and empowered the community with presentations ranging from advancements in treatment to strategies for improving quality of life and ways to adjust to a “new normal.”

Founded by Dr. Anderson, RBOI is a patient-centered practice with facilities in The Villages, Ocala, Timber Ridge, Lecanto and Inverness. The radiation oncology provider is the first to be accredited by the American College of Radiology, the release states.
