The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reports that one in 12 children in the United States have asthma. A National Institutes of Health report shows the combination of obesity and indoor pollution can be very detrimental to children, but vitamin D can help. Sources of indoor pollution, including cigarette smoke, cooking, burning candles, and incense, can worsen asthma symptoms. Some great sources of vitamin D include salmon, tuna, soy milk, cheese, egg yolks, and, of course, the sun.
