The event will take place Saturday, March 7 at The Villages Polo Club field, 703 N. Buena Vista Blvd. Registration begins at 8am with ceremonies starting at 9am, and the walk at 9:30am. Anyone can participate as a walker, sponsor or volunteer.

Last year, the Alzheimer’s Family Organization had almost 1,000 participants in this event, a news release states. The entry fee will benefit the AFO, whose services reach eight West-Central Florida counties, including Sumter County. The goal of the walk is to increase awareness of Alzheimer’s disease in the community and assist AFO in raising much-needed funds to continue support and education programs for families and caregivers.
