Less stressed Midwest

SmartAsset recently analyzed the numbers from the American Psychological Association’s 2018 survey on stress and found the least-stressed cities and other highlights:

• The top 10 least-stressed cities are:
Madison, Wisconsin; Fargo, North Dakota; Iowa City, Iowa; Ann Arbor, Michigan; Boulder, Colorado; Duluth, Minnesota; Bloomington, Illinois; Rochester, Minnesota; College Station; Texas; and Santa Fe, New Mexico.

• Cities in the Midwest are home to more than half of the least-stressed cities. The study reveals this is due to low working hours combined with affordable housing, which provides free time to enjoy leisure activities.

• Tech-focused cities also were recognized as less-stressed locations.
