Be kind to your kidneys

“Your kidneys keep you alive. The least you can do is serve them a good meal.” That is just one of the slogans featured in the new partnership between the National Kidney Foundation and the Monday Campaigns for Meatless Monday, which aims to encourage Americans to make healthy changes to their diets.

With more than 30 million Americans estimated to have chronic kidney disease, a balanced and healthy diet is vitally important to improving overall kidney health. And with one in three American adults being at risk for chronic kidney disease, the most important time for anyone to start changing their diet is NOW!

Many people know someone—or are themselves—afflicted with kidney disease, and information on diet for kidney health is key to living longer, healthier, and happier lives.
