Leesburg couple prove ‘it’s never too late’
to improve your body.

“The body has an amazing way to repair itself at any age. It’s never too late to get the best body you can,” says Bob Bone, 55, an attorney, city of Leesburg commissioner, and fitness buff. 

As they grew older, Bob and his wife, Tiffany, 46, changed their lifestyle a little at a time over the past six years and are now trim, fit and “cut,” as she says. 

“I’m more fit now than when I was in high school,” says Tiffany, a licensed optician. “But it didn’t happen overnight.”

It’s hard to believe that Tiffany, standing 5 feet 1 inch tall and weighing 113 pounds, ever had a problem, but she grew to 145 pounds after her second child was born. Bob stands 6-feet-1 and weighs 185 pounds, down from 215.

Both native Floridians, the Bones live in Leesburg with their two sons, Jonathan, 10, and David, 7.

Tiffany struggled to get pregnant, even attempting a medical procedure to make it happen. Then she developed high blood pressure and other health concerns after the last delivery and spent time in the hospital.

“The pregnancies took a toll on her body along with four miscarriages between the successful births,” Bob says. “She wanted a body makeover. I suggested the gym instead.”

Bob had joined a gym in 2012 to pay attention to his health and appearance. After Tiffany’s health improved, she reluctantly joined him in 2013 for a sporadic weekly routine.

Then, in May 2015, Tiffany found a nutrition program with workouts and an eating plan. She became hooked on meal preparations, healthy eating, and daily workouts. 

“With the new diet, we saw amazing changes our bodies were making even in our 40s and 50s after years of less-than-healthy eating,” Bob says. “I am amazed at how starfish and other species can regrow lost limbs. Our bodies also have amazing capabilities to transform if we just do a combination of things consistently. It’s never too late to have the best body you have always wanted. Being consistent is the key.”
